NFS Operator Network

NFS Network Criteria

The National Flood School can only recommend Restoration Companies for restoration work if they meet a number of criteria.

The criteria are divided into 3 elements:

1. Business Infrastructure
e.g. Appropriate Levels of Public and Employer Liability Insurance and Health and Safety Compliance

2. Experience
Contractors need to have been in their chosen field of restoration for a minimum period of 2 years and have a reputation for quality workmanship

3. Training Qualifications and Commitment to Standards


Minimum Training Qualification Criteria for a NFS Network Operator:

All the qualifications listed below are available through the National Flood School or the National Carpet Cleaners Association.

NFS Qualified Accidental Damage (soft furnishings) Technician

Level 1:

IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician or IICRC Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician.

Level 2:

IICRC Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician.

Level 3:

NCCA or NFS Spot & Stain Removal.
Rug Cleaning Technician (RC) (optional).

Level 4:

NFS or IICRC Carpet Repair & Reinstallation Technician (RR) and/ or NFS or IICRC Colour Repair Technician (CR).

Level 5:

IICRC or NFS Leather Cleaning Technician.


NFS Qualified Water Damage Technician – Contents

Level 1:

IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician or IICRC Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician.

Level 2:

IICRC Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician.

Level 3:

IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician.

Level 4:

NFS Practical Mould Remediation or IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician.

Level 5:

NCCA or NFS Spot & Stain Removal.
Rug Cleaning Technician (RC) (optional).

Level 6:

NFS or IICRC Carpet Repair & Reinstallation Technician.

Level 7:

IICRC or NFS Leather Cleaning Technician.


NFS Qualified Water Damage Technician – Buildings

Level 1:

IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician.

Level 2:

IICRC Applied Structural Drying Technician.

Level 3:

NFS Practical Mould Remediation or IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician.

Level 4:

IICRC Substrate Subfloor Introduction and IICRC Floor Care (Hard Surfaces) Technician.

Level 5:

IICRC Stone, Masonry & Ceramic Tile Cleaning Technician.

NFS Qualified Smoke Restoration Technician - Contents

Level 1:

IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician or IICRC Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician.

Level 2:

IICRC Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician.

Level 3:

IICRC Smoke Restoration Technician.

Level 4:

IICRC Odour Control Technician.

Level 5:

NCCA or NFS Spot & Stain Removal.
Rug Cleaning Technician (RC) (optional).

Level 65:

NFS or IICRC Carpet Repair & Reinstallation Technician (RR) and/ or NFS or IICRC Colour Repair Technician (CR).

Level 7:

IICRC or NFS Leather Cleaning Technician.

NFS Qualified Smoke Restoration Technician – Buildings

Level 1:

IICRC Smoke Restoration Technician.

Level 2:

IICRC Odour Control Technician.

Level 3:

IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician.

Level 4:

IICRC Applied Structural Drying Technician.


Notes:

1. Other recognised training qualifications may be recognised in place of some of the above. These are judged on a case by case basis. Please contact the National Flood School for further clarification.
